Meet Frances
Frances worked as a computer programmer in her twenties, during this time she developed frequent and severe headaches. As a result of this she embraced numerous lifestyle changes, which included leaving her computing career and embarking on a career in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.
Frances first studied Massage Therapy, followed by Shiatsu Therapies at Nature Care College, she then went on to study acupuncture at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) and graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Health Science in Acupuncture.
Although trained in Traditional Chinese acupuncture, Frances had developed an interest in Japanese acupuncture due to her prior training in Shiatsu Therapies. After graduating she commenced her post-graduate studies in Japanese acupuncture over the next few years. She trained in Manaka Protocols, Kiiko Matsumoto’s Clinical Strategies, Shonishin Paediatric Acupuncture and Toyohari, both in Australia and Japan, and continues to regularly attend seminars and study groups. Frances has also trained in Tan Balance Method Acupuncture and Scalp Acupuncture. She has travelled to China to further develop her knowledge and skills. Frances’s style of treatment is a blend of all the above with an emphasis on gentle Japanese techniques.
In 2022 Frances and her family moved to the Clarence Valley, NSW. While there she completed her Masters in Chinese Herbal Medicine and a certificate in the MAP Coaching Method. Frances is now back on the Central Coast and is practicing at Erina.
Frances is government registered in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine, she is a member of the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA) and a Registered Toyohari Practitioner (Japan). She is a certified MAP Coach through the MAP Coaching Institute.
